Growing up, I was the smallest and shortest kid in most of my classes.
I was scrawny, small, and in most cases, the weakest.
Until I met fitness.
By 13, I was pumping out 50+ push-ups.
When I first went to the gym, I fell in love with training.
Yet, the health and fitness industry lied to me for years.
Growing up, I believed that eating more protein and lifting more would help me create a great body.
It wasn't true.
I wanted to be a professional soccer player growing up. I even tried to play semi-pro.
It didn't work out due to my fixed mindset.
I carried this mindset for years.
Years later, I became a trainer.
I'd spent 23 years as an athlete — competitive soccer and 15 years of lifting.
But underneath, I held something more. Since I was 10, I had fought psoriasis on my scalp, joints, and back. Cystic acne flared repeatedly over the years. Both quietly crushed my confidence and made me uncomfortable in my own skin.
So I continued to experiment with my health.
I expanded my nutrition knowledge. My health expertise. I started to learn about plant-rich nutrition.
My first year eating plants, I actually gained fat. I looked — and felt — terrible. I was a personal trainer who didn't want anyone to know I was plant-fueled. I walked past my bedroom mirror one morning and saw that I looked three months pregnant.
Something had to change.
I got to work. I combined my fitness background with evidence-based research. This led to my first big win: I lost over 30 pounds, gained 7 pounds of muscle, and competed as a National Physique Athlete at 5% body fat.
But I still wasn't healed.
I tried everything for my skin — pills, lotions, naturopaths, acupuncturists, and herbal medicine. Nothing worked. Then I shifted to raw living foods and nutritional cleanses.
My wounds started to close. The disease I was told I'd live with forever began to recede.
Experiment, test, verify.
That decade of struggle showed me that health isn’t just about fitness. It’s also about self-education, compassion, and having the courage to keep trying new things.
My wife Anna, a nutritional therapist, coach, and recipe creator, has been by my side through it all. For the past 8 years, we've worked together helping ambitious humans over 40 build real strength and lasting health — not just for themselves, but as a legacy for their families.

Gabriel has 23 years of experience as an athlete. For the past 8 years, he has trained and coached people both in-person and online. He has personally coached over 350 ambitious humans.
He's also written 200+ fitness articles and guides, and is the co-host of the ''Zhanay Health Podcast'.
He has worked with leading fitness brands like New York Sports Club, New York Sports and Spinal, and 24 Fitness.
A lifelong learner, Gabriel believes that a 'beginner's mind' is the prerequisite for lifelong growth.
He is also a father, husband, Qi Gong practitioner, and soccer athlete.
Influenced by Jung, Maslow, Robert Johnson, and ancient psychologies such as Zen and Taoism, he views health from a deeper lens.

Anna is a nutritional therapist and coach. She drives creative management at Zhanay Health.
She's been plant-fueled for over 12 years. She changed her habits after watching 'What the Health.' At that time, she was trying to heal her gut issues, regain her period, and recover from chronic cystic acne.
She fully recovered after following a high-fruit/low-fat diet for an extended period. This transformative experience now deeply informs her professional practice.
She’s written hundreds of plant-rich recipes and created the ZH Recipe Rolodex with many easy, high-protein, healthy meals. She's also the co-host of the 'Zhanay Health Podcast.'
She's a wife, mother, Qi practitioner, and world traveler.
She blends evidence-based nutrition with her love for photography and videography. She lives in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains with Gabriel and their one son.
